“What do comics do with, and to, memory and what does memory do to comics?” With a new body of artwork I am investigating the intersection of memory and comics. Specifically the role of comics in memory culture and comics' ability to simulate or transmit memory.  I have been studying the various ways fine-art/comics have interplayed, especially with abstract sequential art/comics. With the comic aspect I have been studying the various ways fine-art/comics have interplayed, especially with abstract sequential art/comics. For example, comics that are not bound to book format.

With this exhibition I am exploring the contrast between my home in Canada and my ancestral roots of Germany. What is Memory? Can memory be passed down through generations, and how can this be explored with a fine-art narrative?
