In testing artistic processes in language and form, the artist deals with textiles in the form of threads, fabrics and patterns. In doing so, she examines the implicit parallels between lace-making and binary codes, the basis for digital information processing. Using these codes, she translates letters into bobbin lace knots and networks, which are based on an inner logic, but which are simultaneously questioned and frayed by the definition and mobility of the space in between. In this way, the binary itself disappears into many (un)patterns. Where are the empty spaces, holes and gaps? Who speaks? Who is silent?
