In the ongoing International project, "Painting Day by Day in the World", Tamaki Kawaguchi paints from inside a transparent vinyl covered telephone box-shaped canvas. Within the space, the artist paints a motif that relates to the physical environment that surrounds the box.
Kawaguchi's true identity is hidden beneath a hooded white coverall and goggles. This leaves questions such as nationality, age and gender to our imagination. If the onlooker interprets this outfit as something to do with the Fukushima nuclear disaster, this is merely a reflection of their own mind. The transparent surface may, in fact, be a reflection of their inner selves.
