Adamah is the word that the name “Adam” was derived from. In many interpretations of the Bible, Adam was only gendered after the split with Eve, meaning that gender diversity as inherent to humanity is a natural conclusion. This live performance continuation of the short film created under the same name explores Leaf Pankratz’s journey through their transition as well as deconstruction (both religious and otherwise). Utilizing circus, contemporary dance, and projection of the original film to tell the story of the emotional and spiritual battle surrounding gender and faith in transition.
